We aim to make social responsibility a small cost of entry into any given market. No matter the industry, we want consumers to first ask, “Does this product or service put the planet and its citizens before the bottom line?” This is a lot to ask of established corporations but like safety in automobiles and durability in smartphones, raising expectations raises standards.

The Earth’s ecological processes provide us with clean air, fresh water and food to sustain life, and the raw materials to make the products we use every day. Planet Media cares about how our activities can impact the Earth’s ability to continue providing these essential ecological services to future generations.

As we all know, a greener workplace can mean a lighter ecological footprint, a healthier and more productive place to work, and good news for the bottom line. Like many other business, we have the choice to limit our effect on the environment. We choose to make a difference, and here are a few ways that we are doing it.

  • Telecommuting – Use low impact transport for business travel including ride sharing and public transportation.

  • Recycling – Repurpose or recycle paper waste including fax, envelops and junk mail.

  • Energy Consumption – Keep energy consumption low by using LED lights, reducing heat and air conditioning.

  • Powering Down – Setting computers and monitors to energy-saving mode and shut them off when leaving for the day.

  • Digitization – PDF invoices, proposals and keeping files on computers in digital format for paperless document sharing.

  • Go Green – Using green materials by using 100% recycled pens, pencils and office supplies.

  • Reduce Travel – Avoid unnecessary travel by making use of instant messaging, video conferencing, phone and email.

  • Community Volunteering – A core value. Neighborhood tree planting, clean up trash at parks and rivers and working at community gardens.

  • Environmental Legislation – Comply with all relevant environmental laws, regulations and requirements.

Sustainability involves using resources more efficiently and in ways which benefit the environment, customers, business and local communities. Operating our business more sustainably means considering the environmental impacts of operations in our offices and considering the lifecycle impact of the services we sell.
